Indymoto Summer Cookout Series

Each summer month, Indymoto presents a night of food, fun, and bike chat. Catch up on what you have missed out on so far and plan on attending the next cookout.

April - Kick Off Cookout

At the April cookout, everyone socialized and chatted about their bikes and ATVs. We gathered feedback and created a list of topics for the upcoming cookouts. Thanks to everyone who attended!

June - D.I.R.T. (Discover Indiana Riding Trails) and Riding Areas

At our June cookout, you wanted to know more about what D.I.R.T. does and how you can get on board. Below are some helpful links to information about riding areas in Indiana:

July - Bike Maintenance & Suspension

  • Install an hour meter to help remind you to change your engine and transmission oils at their appropriate intervals.
  • For two stroke engines with mixed oil and fuel, use only the oil that is recommended in the manual. Don't use anything with friction fires, as it will make the transmission slip faster.
  • Wash your bike after every ride. You will see what damages may have occurred and what maintenance needs performed. Pay close attention. 90% of problems can be prevented with regular inspections.
  • Adjust your handlebars for sitting and standing. This can make a big difference in the way your bike handles!
  • Around Thanksgiving, strip your bike down completely, grease, and re-lube.
  • To adjust the chain, take the shock out and give the chain a little slack. I personally think KTM specifications are a little loose.
  • Change the oil on the front forks three times a year. Fork seals will last about a year.
  • Test and adjust your suspension clickers. Different terrain requires different settings. Do what feels comfortable for you.
